5000 to 6500 - Really?

Apparently there are about 5,000 to 6,500 quills on the average hedgehog - it sounds like an awful lot. Hard to count the quills on this one...

This hedgehog appeared overnight and had squeezed itself under the cladding on the house. Alfie just barked and barked. Despite trying to encourage the hedgehog out, it was happy in it's hidey hole. In fact you can only just see it now.

Hopefully it will decide to leave tonight...
