Storm's End?
Eventually the thunder and lightening moved away and a little sunshine broke through. Not for long, however. The nor'wester was not as strong as yesterday, but it brought rain, the sort of rain that gets into everything.
I dashed out to the greenhouse and did some weeding, but otherwise stayed indoors.
I felt at a loose end with no electricity, no newspaper, no internet, and the battery of my iPad was very low. I heated soup on the camp stove for lunch, and later lit the stove. I cooked my dinner early, before it was too dark to see properly. Candle light has its limitations.
Then, when it was too late to get started on anything the power came on. I went to bed relieved that the food in my freezer was safe.
