Blips
Wet this morning after heavy overnight rain so blipped a few blips on a leaf. Late to bed again, working on features. Four down, one to go with some pics to go with them. But will they use the pics and if they do will they pay a fair rate?
I said no to Falmouth (watching), yes to Gibralter (doing). Had to bow out of FT Old Lags walk tomorrow and couldn't make Rob's house appointment either (new house snagging), need to see some people in Southampton, probably can't make lunch in London today. Gill is working and someone has to take care of the dogs.
I must take Pippa to London one day, I'm all for dogs in the workplace. Years ago when I worked at the Yorkshire Post, Bob Schofield, one of my colleagues, would bring in his Airedale Terrier. The dog was a big hit in the office. But the editor, John Edwards had issued a "no dogs in the workplace" edict. One day John went over to Bob's desk to discuss a story. The dog was under the desk. John was leaning over the desk, pretending, for the sake of peace and harmony, not to have noticed the dog when it licked his hand. John kept pretending and the dog kept licking until the editor stood up and retreated back in to his office with as much dignity as he could muster. It was incidents like that that endeared John to all of us. He was a great editor, much missed.
Interesting (well, perhaps only for me) to see it was poppies and bees today last year.
