A Bad Sign

At least it seems to be according to what I heard on BBC Scotland today. Apparently there are so many snails and slugs about because of a dearth of hedgehogs. Millions have vanished since the 1950s.

The answer- to make sure your garden is not too tidy and to refrain from putting out slug pellets. Normally the hedgehogs would eat the slugs and now they are being poisoned when they too eat the pellets.

I don't put out slug pellets and I will try to make sure the garden is not too tidy- should be easy.
