Brunssummer heather (heather)
Near Heerlen are beautiful vast South Limburg hills. On the moorland you walk through forests and past lakes, wetlands and the Roode Beek. In August and now early September the heather colored purple.

There is a Visitor Centre with a lookout. Here you have a beautiful view over the moor and forest, you can do all sorts of activities here.
Walk along winding paths through the different landscapes. You hear cowbells' near? Then the shepherd with his flock of sheep in the area, worth a look! This Schoonebeker sheep graze around the grasses between the heath. You can also adopt a sheep!

Here you find other traces of the past, like an old Landgrave and a mound. And coniferous trees in the forest through which they have been used for mining.

This afternoon we take a walk with our dog Ira in this beautiful purple landscape. Lovely to see the dog run over the moon in the heath .
