Orchid petals and naughty bits
This is another Phaelanopsis (I blipped one here in early August). I took it in natural light, using a bulb exposure of around 50 seconds. The flower is just beginning to fade.
The yellow parts are the petals and sepals, and the parts in the middle are designed to attract an insect and trick it to pollinate the flower by luring it into the centre.
