Herring!

We were just putting Chloe back into the car, after she had had a good run around Bitts Park in Carlisle, when I noticed this herring!

Well, our daughter always used to call herons 'herrings' when she was little!

It stayed motionless for several minutes...as did Ros and I!

We picked loads of blackberries this morning, and I have made a great big blackberry and apple crumble! Delicious!
