Globemaster

Quick grab shot today at lunch time. Picked up lunch and on the way back to the office noticed a lot of activity at the airport so stopped to have a look.

AMC-33124, a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III of the 315th/ 437th Airlift Wing, Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina, was preparing to take-off.

As well as being a base for the Air Mobility Command, Charleston Field is also home to Charleston International Airport for civilian traffic. The airport is also the assembly site for the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Every other year the base tries to put on an air show for the public, operations permitting.
