Plugged In

I was on the Island of Mull this morning for a small conference about EVs (Electric Vehicles).

Yesterday Keith Brown the Transport Minister announced a pilot scheme that will give a 50% discount on the ferries to Mull & Bute for plug in EVs . There is a charging point at the Cal Mac Ferry Terminal in Oban and now there is also one - installed by the Mull & Iona Community Trust - just outside their premises in Craignure, where the conference was being held.

This Nissan Leaf , which is being demonstrated on the island for two weeks, was being "filled up" when I left to go back to Oban. Fellow blipper Treshnish was more enthused about the other vehicle on show, however , which was the extraordinary Twizy.
