Journey Day 11

"Women at work" in Newport which, surprise to us is a huge fish catch, sell, process, distribute center. We went down to old harbor and one large operation after another. And huge sea lions on wharfs barking constantly. Very colorful scene!

Highlights;
1. Seal rock which is huge and full of examples of rock formations from long ago Columbus river lava flows.
2. Stops to watch the wild water whenever we could.
3. Camped on a long peninsula and had great long beach walk. It is the weekend and camp is filled with families and kids. Which is great BUT we will head home tomorrow with a pile of dirty sticky from the damp clothing, wet towels, my sea collections to include a bunch of empty mussels still all string together.

Good to head home on a high. A couple of favorite beach haunts are on our way!
