Red Riding Hood
It was Roald Dahl day at Erin's school yesterday. She went as one of his lesser known characters - Red Riding Hood, but with a twist - she blows the wolf away with a gun and walks through the forest with a new fur coat the next day.
I'm afraid that Mrs Mynci was usurped by our cute gun-totin' daughter. I had a picture of her enjoying the rooty singletrack at Pitmedden Forest. We had a great pedal around the forest - first time here on a bike and I must say that it compares favorably with the waymarked trail centres elsewhere. A few more trips will be needed before I've worked out the best circuits though - did find we were pedalling up obvious descent routes at times. It reminded me of the red route at Drumlanrig. Michelle hasn't ridden this kind of stuff for a very long time, but after a nervous start, she was chewing it up a few miles in, enjoying the technical rooty ups and downs as much as I was.
On the way out of the forest we spotted some white (albino?) deer. A rare sight indeed. Before the school run, we had an hour to enjoy a lunch in the superb Tanochbrae Tearoom in Auchtermuchty.
