Leica M Noctilux magic... Not the best picture I have ever taken, but definitely the best camera I have ever taken a picture with... other than with Tomasz' MM. I'd say the Noctilux trumps the deal though. ;-)

Today is the grand opening of the new Leica boutique at Foto Ottica Cavour in Milan. I decided to pass by to get my hands on the new M 240! The Leica tech was nice enough to allow me to pop in my own card... and here you have it! My most excellent camera review!!

1st things 1st - The new M is a big camera. The new M with a 50/0.95 Noctilux is a VERY big camera. I couldn't get used to the electronic viewfinder and so took that off right away. The big lense filling the lower left is bothersome in the rangefinder. I definitely need MORE time to get my hand at using the rangefinder. I did really enjoy setting the aperture and lense speeds even if only a few of my pictures came out OK... ha!!! Not total failure, but.... definitely room for improvement. (That-a-boy- stay positive!)

Playing now with PS to see what I could salvage.... AMAZING. The level of detail seems to be much deeper than with my NEX-7 even with the same number of pixels. hmmm.... could that be due to 10000 euro lense against a 300 euro lense???? ha, let's leave it to that. Maybe someone will tell me that the DNG file is much better than the RAW file?

So... will this be the last Leica picture in my blip journal???? BIG question. Probably safe to say the last one with a Noctilux, unless I win the lottery. That is just crazy money to throw at a camera lense....

Happy blipping!
