Deconstructed Shepherds' Pie

K hade made a reservation at a wee wine bar near the house. We been going there for ages - another place where the staff knows us. However, their traffic has really picked-up and you need a reservation to get in in the weekend lately.

After being unsuccessful a couple of times, K reserved. Who says old dogs can't learn?

Anyway, this was the special. Puréed carrots, sliced red potatoes and braised lamb. Wow! That, a bottle of Sancerre, and a wee glass of Port to finish off. Sehr gut, as our Bayerische friends say.
