Bell Rock lighthouse
And a spot of app faffery on a Saturday night. Mr Lif spotted the sun glistening on something out towards the sea as we sat at the pub on the hill this evening. Me and him have been up that hill on an extremely regular basis for some 7 or 8 years now but it is the first time we have spotted the lighthouse. It is a loooong way off - 11 miles off the coast of Arbroath and 14 from St Andrews. A much feared spot for sailors. At low tide the rocks and the sound are a clear signal of the dangers which lie close by but in high tides and calmer weather the dangers of the area are well hidden. A major feat of engineering was undertaken over 200 years ago to build the lighthouse over several years!
Fact folks! I am just amused to see it after all this time. The only other times I have been aware of its presence in the past have been on stormy or fogy nights when the wind has been in the right direction
Time to chill now...enjoy your Saturday xx
