Princess

First ballet lesson of the school year for Grace this morning. As Hubby was working, I took all the girls down to Hexham. Actually they were brilliant. Arwen had a potter about, then fell asleep in her buggy. Ophi played with some of the other ballet school siblings who were there.

As it was such a beautiful day, it seemed like a shame to go straight home so, making the most of our English Heritage membership, we drove on to Aydon Castle afterwards for an hour or so. The girls loved exploring the rooms and Grace enjoyed reading the information panels and telling us all about the castle. Ophelia looked very sweet dressed up as a Tudor girl. Ophi also had fun picking apples in the orchard. Arwen was full of energy and excited by most everything she saw.

The day was slightly marred when Gracie had a major meltdown just before we left. Partly my fault that I didn't give warnings and reminders that we were leaving after visiting the shop, and also for not laying out how much money she could spend in there. She really needs that support, bless her. I hate seeing her lose control that badly and get so incredibly frustrated when she can't express herself. Still, we all stayed calm to help her get over it - took about twenty minutes, but she got there eventually with cuddles, reassurance and then help to put her feelings into words.
