Privet Hawk Moth

I was amazed to see this on my lilac tree, had never seen one before so took some shots and onto google, it's about 2.5 inch long, it will turn into a Privet Hawk Moth which are the largest resident moths found in the UK, there were 2 on the tree, I found them quite fascinating to watch.
