House of the Seasons
We made it to Houston without any major snafu's!! So good to be with our daughter again!! We stopped in Jefferson, Texas on the way here, because I'd read that it was once the State's largest city & was a major inland port, back in the mid 1800's. Hard to believe that now, as there are next to no businesses there. However, there ARE many of these beautiful mansions! This one is called the "House of the Seasons" & was built in 1872. The houses' name comes from its unusual cupola, which has stained glass windows representing the seasons of the year! Unfortunately the windows look dark in my picture so you can't see the bottom panels! In my next life, I'm going to live here!! :)
