Highland Cattle Show, Pollok Park, Glasgow
I went over to see what was going on towards the end of the day. This gave me the chance to get inside the marquees with the cattle pens, and to watch the very organised moving of cattle back to their trucks in the car park.
I rather liked this shot, noting that two of the gents are wearing Highland Cattle ties.
I had a good chat with sculptor Robert Coia, who was demonstrating his skills, and exhibiting some of his work. Coia has just finished the African Bull Elephant now situated near the play area across from the Burrell. We chatted about the project he is working on, eleven sculptures for different parks around the city. The next one is five roses in the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, to be sited near The House for an Art Lover in Bellahouston Park. He is very happy for visitors to drop in to his workshop at the Saw Mill in the Pollok, and for the work in progress to be photographed.
