Dying Back
After the recent dire weather forecasts, I just went out into the garden to take this picture of the bracken which covers the base of our water tank, showing how it's taking on its autumn guise.
While the weather wasn't as bad as up North, it did rain from lunchtime until just after teatime. We didn't get the winds which were threatened, which is sort of a shame as I was going to go to the coast tomorrow to see if there were any big waves. I might still go. I'll see what the local forecast says tomorrow morning.
I spent the rest of this morning collecting and starting to edit the pictures for my website this month. I've got quite a lot in the folder, and I'll have to be quite strict with myself about which ones I actually put up. I can find it difficult to reject pictures.
The afternoon was spent picking blackberries from the end of the garden (in the rain, as I forgot to pick them this morning), making a blackberry and apple pie and then cooking the chicken for our Sunday roast. Only three of us today, as my son is on holiday in Spain - and celebrating his twenty first birthday. He did ring us up at teatime, which really pleased his mum! Happy birthday son!
