Lyra: Why do we have to eat our lunch outside?

Ellie: For some reason Mum thinks we like it.

Lyra: How stupid. Food tastes just the same as inside.

Ellie: Yeah I know, and it's blowing a gale out here.

Lyra: And they make us sit at this stupid mini picnic table.

Ellie: They reckon it's cute but I just think it's naff.

Lyra: It would be alright if it was pink...
