Inside Jedburgh Abbey...

We visited the Jail built in 1820, which gives an interesting insight into the morals and attitudes of that period in time...

After a lovely lunch we then visited the house where Mary Queen of Scots stayed when she visited Jedburgh... she took ill there, and was later to express the wish that she had died there. Her visit to Jedburgh was to mark the start of the unravelling of events which led to her tragic end...
