Wiggo

Headed down to see the finish of Stage 1 of the Tour of Britain which ended at Drumlanrig Castle. The castle makes an excellent venue for the end of a cycle race and not just because of the stunning location. Local blacksmith Kirkpartick Macmillan was a pioneer of the early bicycle and it is claimed that one of his designs was the first "pedal bike" and there is a replica in the cycle museum at the castle. There are many other claimants too I may add and its not really a bike as we know it, but here we see a bike which is right up to date - or as up to date as the UCI regulations allow - ridden by the one and only Sir Bradley Wiggins. Cannondale's Elia Viviani sprinted to victory in Stage 1, but Team Sky and OPQS both looked to be in good form and there's another 7 stages to go. Great to see many World Tour stars riding in Scotland.
