Fistral Beach, Newquay

Up at 7.30am and out for an early morning walk which will be the pattern for the week all being well. By 8.15am we were walking along the South West Coastal Path above the famous Fistral Beach heading towards Newquay. The early morning dullness improved and the sun shone providing lovely colours on the beach.

Back at the cottage we finished off breakfast and travelled to the Bodmin and Wensford Railway for the Steam and Real Ale Gala. An interesting little heritage railway which is Y shaped with the main station, Bodmin General at the bottom of the Y and a line going off to the left to Bodmin Parkway on the main public network and a quirkly little branch to the right going to Boscombe Junction. On this second line we travelled on a super Auto Train down a steeply graded line to the Juntion having a good view of the track through the forward facing window.
