These Boots...
...are made for walking riding. This very large boot always catches my eye when I drive past. It dwarfs the buildings and vehicles alongside, and is also very striking at night when the stars along the front are lit up.
There are all kinds of ways to advertise a business. In this case, I think passers-by might get caught up in the boot itself, rather than the biker shop it is advertising. However, it is a great piece of street art, and we'll likely never know how many people it gets into the shop.
I pass this business when I take our empties to the bottle depot. I have started donating them to whoever is in line or nearby and seems in the most need. There are various ways of looking at helping those on the street. I subscribe to Rick Tobias' view. He has worked on the streets at the Meeting House, a church for people who aren't into church for many years. He gives to "pan handlers" without questioning what they will use the change for. His take is that maybe 10 times they will spend it on alcohol or drugs, but maybe the 11th time it saves someone from prostituting themselves. He has many other nuggets about helping those on the street without judgment.
