St Nicholas

Icon of Saint Nicholas, patron saint of children and sailors, and hand painted on oilcloth and wood with real gold background, by the monks on Mount Athos in NW Greece.
I remember purchasing this from a bespoke shop in Athens in the early eighties. More to the point it cost an arm and a leg and left me with no cash for transport back to the hotel. It was a really long walk back, as I remember!
