Wiggo!

Sorry, Sir Wiggo!

The Tour of Britain returned to Kendal today.

This is the second time the town has hosted a stage finish in the last 10 years.

They must like us!

The last 700m is up the steep Beast Banks road in the middle of town.

It seems a bit cruel, given the day the lads have had on the bikes.

Starting in Carlisle then heading down to Cockermouth before heading inland to go over Honister Pass at nearly 1200feet above sea-level. Plunging down the other side they skirt Derwentwater before going through Keswick and over Dunmail Raise to Grasmere and Ambleside. Then on to Troutbeck Bridge and Bowness on Windermere before heading to Kendal.

A total of 187 Km or 117 miles in old money.
The weather has been appalling. Heavy rain and strong winds. Though the wind wasn't too strong in Kendal

Columbian rider, Nairo Quintana, who came second in the Tour de France this summer, disappeared into the team bus for a hot shower and didn't re-appear.

I can't blame him.
