Borth monument

Up in Wales this week working although after seeing the forecast for Tuesday we decided to head home on Monday evening to return later in the week. The wind was incredibly strong today, the sort of day that all you can hear is wind.

Having had nice weather for once this year it has been a summer of people telling me how lucky I am to work outdoors and by and large I mostly agree, these self same people however seem to have a rather quaint idea that we are always wandering around in some kind of semi holiday mode, certainly not true and they are not usually so jealous when it is below freezing or lashing it down with rain.

Now Borth is a strange one, an interesting ramshackle, windblown permanently crouching against the wind kind of a town, nowhere near as salubrious or cosmopolitan as its genteel neighbour (and my university town Aberystwyth) but there is a certain something here and it is a place just gagging to have a good photographic day spent on it.

My trivia fact for Borth is that it is the town that apparently provided Morrissey for the inspiration for the song "Every day is like Sunday"
