Goodbye to the cottage

No walk this morning, straight into breakfast and then packing to come home. Collecting together all the stuff in the kitchen into boxes and then clothes into the suitcase and everything (just) into the car.

This shot is of the living room, comfortable enough with a good big TV and lots of channels not to watch. But no wifi - and poor mobile reception - I'd have thought that wifi was almost an essential now and indeed many cottages do provide it as standard.

A quick detour to Newquay to show Doreen the sights, visit the supermarket and try to pick up another saffron loaf (unsuccessful) before eventually hitting the road at about mid-day.

A safe journey home but slow. That A30 is mostly a very good road but there are just a few spots where the dual carriageway ends and everyone crowds onto the single carriageway on this occasion resulting in a 6 mile queue and at least a 45 minute delay. I can see why people in the South West and Cornwall in particular feel isolated from the rest of the country.

Arrived back at about 7.00pm and eventually had the obligatory Chinese takeway delivered just before 9.00pm.

Railway tomorrow.
