Sharks Bay Beach
Now in my second week I have been promoted to tour leader! Yesterday I encouraged three more couples to go to Sharks Bay and sent them off with my snorkel and underwater camera. They said they had a great day and took lots of photos. Today I arranged to take another couple and their young daughter down (actually, that was so I could go again!) They enjoyed borrowing my camera too. Perhaps I should start to hire it out!
We had a lovely afternoon on the beach. Having got friendly with one of the diver guides the other day he kindly lent me some flippers today. The current was much stronger today so it was harder round the coral. I had an interesting moment at one point, swimming down a channel the guide had taken me along the other day. All of a sudden I was surrounded by fish. Normally they ignore you but they seemed to be suddenly very interested in me and got in my way. I wasn’t too keen on the number of them so I turned and headed back, they all escorted me in orderly fashion back to the start of the channel. Were they trying to tell me something? I shall never know.
I said goodbye to the friendly guide as that was my last visit to Sharks Bay, other things planned for the next few days. I thought you might have had enough of underwater shots so this is one of the beach taken from the other side of the coral.
