Tempting Fate

In today's Health and Safety conscious world I saw this and wondered why on earth they would build a set of steps up to a railway line that carries the Aberdeen to Inverness service. Not only that they hardly make it hard to access the steps and they even illuminate them at night.

No warnings or signs that say "getting ran over by a train can seriously damage your health" so to me it just beggar's belief. Obviously they will have a good reason for it but I cannot think what it could be as all it will take is for someone to lay something on the tracks and the results would not be nice.

Or maybe it is just me that can see problems with things like this
