Smailholm Tower

Inspired by Border Tails' photo on Sunday I decided that I should pay more attention to what's on my own doorstep. I've seen Smailholm Tower from a distance but not close up. So we parked in Smailholm village and walked the mile and a half to the tower and back through the fields to the village - about 3.5 miles in total with a bit too much on the roads for my liking. It was pretty windy and chilly up at the tower so we didn't hang around. Time for a quick photo (not nearly as good as Border Tails' one!) and then kept going.
