The car

The car is still alive. I'd say we have a 50:50 chance of saving the engine.

We still have a blown head gasket, but it has sealed to a certain extent. I'm losing much less fluids (coolant and water) from the expansion tank. The engine temperature is not in excess of 100c all the time now .... the fans are kicking in before 96c to cool everything down.

I'm hopeful, but I wouldn't bet my house on it.
