Mother Moorhen and her Chick

It is quite surprising that at this late time of the year that the Moorhens are still raising youngsters?May be they know something that we don't?
Anyway the care and tenderness that this mother was showing her youngster was a joy to watch!
The light was very low so it meant I had to use the Sigma 150-500 Wide open @ f6.3 with a shutter speed of 1/125 @ ISO 1600 hence mum is pretty sharp but the youngster is a little soft!
