Crystal river kayaking

As you can see, lots of action on the river! I took my Nikon in a messenger bag strapped to my chest. Worked well. Even got risky enough to take my iPhone put of the dry bag so I'd have a blip.

We saw some salmon running, larger than my forearm. Cool! Most ran last week. No other wildlife though. Pretty quiet for the SLR, until about 10 min after the blip. I rounded the corner first, and noticed these two gray stumps on the inside of the curve. Them one blinked. A blue heron stood stock still watching me as I went past, frantically grabbing for my camera. He was patient enough to let's snap a dozen shots, even when I paddled back upstream for more. I knew he wouldn't like the crowd though, and got a few as he launched himself into the air. Alas, the camera has no way to upload. You'll have to be content with my wet sneaker and a story for now.

No one tipped, and a great experience was had by all. Perfect weather, glorious day.
