Demolition Well Under Way

The demolition of the Copthorne Hotel has taken some time here is the blip I did some time ago. Here are some other shots.

I thought I would take a short walk around the city to see what has changed while I have been away. The Copthorne hotel in Victoria Square seems to have been coming down fast since leaving, so shouldn't be long now until its gone. Rebuild authorities have proposed that a performing arts precinct be built on and around the area now occupied by the hotel and other buildings. So it should be a interesting area in years to come!

I am not sure what the remains of another demolished building in the front was. It has been like this for months and is full of water. It came down when the area was in the Red Zone Cordons were in place. This may help if you are unsure what the Red Zone is!
