Puriri Flower
I have posted this today not because of the flower but to remind me how fantastic the Tui birds were that were feeding on all the flowers around the beach house. I took some Tui shots but was in such a hurry to go fishing that I did not get a decent one worthy of blip.
Tuis are a unique song bird with a white feather tuft on their neck. Here is a link for the Tui
The good thing about posting a Puriri flower is that not many internationals would have seen these. They grow into really large umbrella shaped trees with strong green foliage all year round. They are a native to NZ and the native wood pigeons love the red berries produced by the flowers.
