A Bold Paint Choice

When we bought this house fourteen years ago, it hadn't been lived in for eight years, and nothing had been done to the interior since about 1969. It was really a very sad, neglected place in desperate need of some TLC.

The dining room was painted a nauseous shade of salmon pink with dreary tan undertones, and the woodwork was sort of a wishywashy mocha beige slurry.

When the time came to paint the room, I decided to be brave and opted for a really bold colour. We use this room mostly at night, and this scarlet red really glows by candlelight, and when the fire is lit in the hearth. It's the perfect spot for Christmas dinner!
