In the mix
Still exhausted today, but somehow managed to power on through.
Miles was looking better first thing this morning, so Gina took him off to daycare, only to be called at lunchtime to say that he had a fever and was inconsolable.
There goes her day to herself to do her uni work as she then had him refusing to be put down for the rest of the day. I left a little early to give her a bit of a break after what has been a full on, emotional and sleep deprived few days. It's amazing that she carries on as she does really, but she finds the strength from somewhere!
Tonight at rehearsal we were a man down, so we concentrated on working on our sound, particularly the banjo, which has been causing us a bit of grief in the mix. This is our huuuuuge, 24 channel mixing desk that runs into our PA speakers... for rehearsals! We're pretty fortunate as a band that we have such amazing professional gear and we're not personally out of pocket. The idea is that the band pays for itself. So far it's worked a treat, although the album recording/mixing/mastering and printing, along with the launch is turning into a costly affair and I don't think that we'll end up too flush afterwards (unless of course we sell some albums!). That's not what it's about though.
It's about the fun. :)
