Paint(ed)

Most of today has been spent travelling. We are now in Uzes a very old town near Avignon. We haven't had much time yet to explore the town but the B&B we are staying in is in a house dating back to 1550. It's a very interesting place and I feel some blips of it will be coming soon. We are a bit more out of our comfort zone here. The staff don't speak very much English so we have had to dust off our French and use our hands a lot. We're getting by so far!! The Internet is only accessible in a few places. The walls of the building are very thick so signal can't reach the rooms. I hope I can still blip every day.
I took this picture in a little town we came to just after we set off this morning. There are no windows in this wall. Everything is painted. At first I thought the shutters were real but the shadows are so cleverly painted that it gives the illusion of real open shutters. After finding a town peopled by marionettes a few days ago we now find one with painted families. Maybe there aren't enough people in rural France and they feel the need to create a few extra ones.
