Artichokes in the Sky

My parents took me up for coffee to Birkheads Secret Gardens, a short distance away but really lovely. The couple who own and run it have put a huge amount of work into this little enterprise, creating the most beautiful gardens with a cafe and a garden shop. I recommend that anyone in the area pays a visit.

We walked around the gardens and I could have blipped a hundred and one things, but my favourites were the artichokes. Well, that is, if you don't count the coffee and the most enormous slab of freshly made blueberry gateau.
