Martins Potato Digger
More iron junk on the shore, this time near Newark Bay in Deerness. I think, in days gone past, there was no scrapyard in Orkney and old machinery would simply be pushed off cliffs or dumped on the shore. Or they could see into the future and knew that I would like it deposited there so as to provide me with a subject.
Looked for migrant birds. In the little garden cultivated within a quarry at Grindigar I found a yellow-browed warbler gone astray from its breeding grounds in Siberia en route to SE Asia!
