Fiery Moon-sky over Salisbury...
Weather forecast was for a clear, full moonlit night but getting the last bus at 11.30 to Old Sarum and I find it is cloudy...
By the time I've walked from the bus-stop, clambered up the ramparts and set up the tripod it's midnight and so I just caught Salisbury Cathedral's floodlights, before they're turned off.
On LARGE you see the 404ft Spire, towards the left and with the wide angle (Nikkor 10-24mm, again) and so much sky, I had to correct the distortion that sent the spire poking in at an awkward angle. I did this in Photoshop's 'Transform'. This ate up some of the sky, but as there was plenty of that already, losing a bit wasn't a problem.
Just lucky enough to get the moon poking through the clouds, whilst the breeze just moved the clouds enough for a bit of interest. The city's streetlamp glow bounces off this big carpet of cloud, so giving the colour.
Actually rather disappointed to get my Blip on my first picture, after all the effort to get there but with no imminent clearing of the clouds and with the return walk home being downhill, felt I had done enough. It was also the first time since the spring that I wore gloves, it being quite cool, up there in the breeze.
Thanks to all who hoisted my rather gaudy emergency tree blip of yesterday up into the Spotlight - to my surprise, many of you found it more endearing than I did! I promise you better work from now on!
