Re-construction activity in Mt Pleasant

This is the third time we've seen this helicopter operating on the lower slopes of Mt Pleasant, but this morning was the first time we saw it on the ground. We understand it has been used in the repair of an earthquake-damaged house that is not accessible by road. The strop was being packed away at the time this shot was taken, after completing the operations for today, and the helicopter took off back to base shortly after.

The repair work to Rangatira Terrace visible in the upper part of this picture is an entirely separate activity that has been going on for months. The cliff fell away, creating a massive repair job, as you can see here.
