John Betjeman at St Pancras
I booked a lunchtime train home and spent a gentle morning strolling from my cute little hotel by the ballerina back to Euston.
Figaro was magnificent, certainly one of the best productions I've seen. ( and I've seen rather a lot lately). I ended up chatting with an 85 year old lady who had been stood up and a thirty-something Russian girl who is more opera addicted than me.
A London lumberjack, a volume of Erotic poetry for vegans and vegetarians, the clock in the Foundling Museum? No - my choice was the John Betjeman statue. One day I'll go on Eurostar.........
