Throop Mill
Throop Mill, on the banks of the River Stour, is a Grade II listed building and is closed to the public.
It dates from the late 19th century and apparently contains some fine early 20th century milling machinery.
The watermill in Throop village has been present in some regard from the 12th century passing through various ownerships including monks from Quarr Abbey and was mentioned in the Domesday Book
It ceased working in 1972 and the current owners have allowed it become derelict and its future is a controversial subject with Bournemouth Council trying to buy it to re-open it to the public
