Hinges

I was brought up in an area of heavy industry but now live in a predominantly rural area. However, not far from me is the remains of what was once a thriving brickworks employing many hundreds of people, until it was taken over by Hanson Trust and subsequently closed. No doubt it was 'more efficient' but I wonder about all the people who lost their jobs as there is no other industry of that type round here. A lot of the works has been demolished but what remains is now 'listed' so cannot be destroyed. This is detail from a door to an electricity sub-station that once served the works.
