Our home
Well, for weeks at a time only!
After the pictures of the village of Bonnieux and its old stone houses I have blipped, you might be surprised to see the house we are actually staying in, right at the top of the village. It is relatively modern with huge glass windows. Built into the rock face, inside it is open plan with a great kitchen area, always a priority in a French house! It’s spacious, light, quiet and has wonderful views. It suits us perfectly. I took this photograph from about a third of the way down the garden grassland that is in front of the house.
Apart from a bit of shopping this morning, we have spent the rest of the day here. Because we have been to the area so often, we don’t feel a great need to be out sightseeing every day. Also, as we are here for two weeks, rather than the one week that we have often been, means that we take a much more leisurely view of things. So, an afternoon spent sitting in the sun, or the shade, reading. Wonderful!
To the family - I’m on my third out of the six in the Booker short list. Gordon is on his second and is tackling the longest.
Thank you so much for the wonderful response, comments, hearts etc. to my Van Gogh blip yesterday. I have read such a lot about this troubled genius over the years and have tracked his life in the different places when we have stayed here. It was wonderful to share this fascination with so many interested people.
