The Garden
A busy day with, amongst other things, a visit from a Dunoon Ferries Group Delegation which heard , at lunchtime, a members business debate on the Dunoon Ferry issue and then directly from the Deputy First Minister herself about the work the Scottish Government is doing to try and help the community and ensure a reliable commuter service on the publicly funded run.
I sometimes wonder what first time visitors make of the extraordinary variety of surroundings in the Parliament building. This is a view of a rather wet garden, outside the Garden Lobby (the Parliament's main thoroughfare) taken from my office window just before I started my own long journey back to Cowal. The distinctive "boat" shaped glass roofs set it off very effectively.
The garden is looking good now but soon, as today's weather hinted, a bleaker prospect will be in view.
