Date Night?

Date night was cancelled for the th week in a row. A number of reasons: Ian wasn't having Ferguson because his parents are on holiday so getting him up at 6am would be unfair...

Ferguson subsequently has Croup so needs voluminous TLC.
He spent most of last night & today in a burning ball of coughs, snot & tears. My heart has ached for his sad face & vulnerability, just lying & snoozing beside me. He has a class assembly tomorrow that he so desperately wants to attend, so do hope he's feeling better enough in the morning to make it...

Alex spent most of the night at the Trafford Centre, then wrapping the girls' birthday presents (which I certainly don't have a problem with!!) & watching football. I had hoped that by 9pm at the latest, we could have sat down together & had something to eat/drink & watched a film. Wishful thinking by me.

Perhaps following all these recent Date Nights alone or doing something independently, that should become a more definitive thing- I mean put Thursday back to just being "Thursday Night", as "Date Night" has delivered so much disappointment lately. At least then, we both can do these solitary things without the guilt that we are encroaching on what is supposed to be a special night in each other's company. Then when it does happen, it's a pleasant occasional thing rather than a frequent anti-climax.

I do hope my little boy gets better soon...
