How comforting

Everybody loves a real fire, look at the warmth, the comfort and the colours it provides for the chill of autumn. Worrying that we need it already! It's gone cold so quickly - it's a long time til spring!! I wonder if we are in for a long hard winter!!
We are old fashioned here in this house, no fire no heat ! Sometimes it would be nice to come into a warm house with the heating already on but it only takes 20 minutes for the house to warm with this fire and I think it's worth it - well apart from the dust , mess and time it takes to clear it out, set it and light it. But yes I think it's worth it! Especially as its classed as mans work in this household.
